The problem
Repayment schedules were calculated in spreadsheets and balances were stored and edited in place, so small errors compounded silently. Reconciling gateway payments against instalments was manual and slow.
Our approach
Every transaction writes to an append-only, double-entry ledger; balances are derived from it rather than mutated, which removes an entire class of drift bugs. Gateway webhooks are idempotent on the transaction reference, so a retry can never double-credit an account.
The outcome
Balances that reconcile exactly, historical positions reconstructable for any date, and automated collections with configurable escalation.
